Preacher #49

Preacher #49 (May 1999) delivers the kind of visceral cover tension that makes Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's Vertigo series so hard to put down. Glenn Fabry's painted cover dominates with a close-up of a grimacing man whose outstretched, bloodied hand reaches toward the viewer, while in the background a figure engulfed in flames screams inside what appears to be a vehicle interior. "First Contact" promises a collision of desperate fury and burning chaos that feels entirely at home in Preacher's uncompromising world.
