Preacher #12

The sheer scale of the figure looming over that tiny building gives the composition a genuinely unsettling, almost apocalyptic weight. Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's mature-readers Vertigo series was firing on all cylinders in 1996, and this issue — "Until the End of the World" — promises exactly the kind of Southern Gothic dread the title was known for delivering.
