Power Pack #23

A massive, snarling reptilian villain dominates this June 1986 cover, looming over the four young members of Power Pack as they scramble across a scorched, volcanic landscape. One child lies fallen in the foreground bathed in a strange glow, while the others — in their distinctive white, pink, and dark costumes — are clearly in the thick of serious trouble. Jon Bogdanove and Bob Wiacek deliver a genuinely tense cover scene, and the promise of a Fantastic Four cameo inside makes this Louise Simonson–penned issue of Marvel's kid-hero team an appealing read.
