Porky Pig takes to the water in this charming 1961 Dell issue, sitting in a small wooden rowboat named "Petunia" while clutching an anchor and rope — apparently trying to deal with a mysterious black sea creature surfacing beside him. Tony Strobl's cover pencils capture Porky's wide-eyed surprise perfectly, and the promise of "Prizes — Prizes — Prizes!" from the Big Dell Comics Contest makes this a fun snapshot of early-sixties comics culture. With Phil De Lara bringing the interior art to life on "The Terrified Trainer," there's plenty of classic Looney Tunes charm packed into this 15-cent package.
