“Wrong Way Heart”

In "Wrong Way Heart," Charlotte grapples with her shifting affections—first drawn to her married boss David, then disillusioned by his priorities, only to find unexpected comfort in her seemingly "immature" co-worker Cliff. Nina Albright’s expressive art captures the emotional turbulence of a woman caught between desire and self-awareness, while L. Willinger’s cover perfectly frames the story’s bittersweet tension.

Charlotte thinks co-worker Cliff is "too immature...too unsophisticated!" She falls in love with her new boss David, although he's "past forty" and married with two children. Charlotte and David have an affair and Charlotte asks him to divorce his wife. However, one of David's children falls ill--Charlotte is angry that he breaks a date with her to care for the child, and David says she's "self-centered! Thoughtless! Vain!" Clint consoles Charlotte and they eventually get engaged.
