☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe comic features two main stories starring Poppo the clown. In "No Ifs, Ands or Butlers," Poppo helps a man escape from a party by creating a distraction, then sneaks away on a delivery bike to take the children ice cream and cookies. In the second story, Poppo encounters a woman with a pet mouse at what appears to be a formal event; when she faints, criminals attempt a robbery, but Poppo foils their plan and is hailed as a hero, while a woman recognizes him as her missing husband. The final sequence shows Poppo at a dock area where he nearly falls into the water before being called back by onlookers.
When Mrs. Van Trumpington's regular butler is sidelined, she conscripts Poppo into service for her elegant dinner party—and chaos erupts as the well-meaning clown attempts to navigate the refined world of formal dining, much to the bewilderment of her guests. As Poppo stumbles through his butler duties with characteristic mishaps and unexpected charm, he unknowingly thwarts a sinister plot brewing in the shadows. What begins as a comedic catastrophe transforms into something far more consequential than anyone anticipated.
When crooks Kollins and Sates pose as guests at a fancy party to rob the Van Trumpingtons, Poppo spots the scheme and pursues them—only to get sidetracked by a dog and a wrecked car. Now Poppo must team up with Bumpy Allen and the others to track the thieves to their hideout by the river before they escape with the loot.
When crooks hide out in a building with stolen goods, Poppo and his young pals Ginger, Jimmie, and Bumpy Allen decide they can't wait for help—so Poppo devises a clever plan using a hornet's nest to drive the thieves out. It's a wild romp that lands Poppo in trouble with Mr. and Mrs. Van Trumpington, but his heroics earn him an unexpected reward when the grateful couple invite him and the children to be their guests.
