The third chapter of Ed Brubaker and Colin Wilson's five-part WildStorm thriller finds a red-haired figure pressed against a graffiti-scarred alley wall, pistol raised and alert to an unseen threat — while the ominous shadow of a gunman looms behind them and a posted flyer bearing a masked, brooding face watches from above near a sign reading "St. Christopher's Bar." Simon Bisley's painted cover work gives the whole scene a gritty, tactile atmosphere that feels lifted straight from a hardboiled crime novel. If you've been following this miniseries since issue one, the tension here is unmistakably building toward something.
