Plastic Man #14
Kyle Baker's singular cartooning vision is on full display here, as Plastic Man has hilariously transformed himself into a stop sign — complete with his trademark goggles and bow tie — to help two small children safely cross a suburban street, much to the bewilderment of the driver in the teal car pulling up to the crosswalk. This 2005 DC series remains one of the most genuinely funny superhero comics of its era, and this cover perfectly captures Baker's gift for finding absurdist comedy in the everyday heroic moment.
