The lab mice with world-domination ambitions go full Wild West in this November 1996 issue from DC's Pinky and the Brain series. The cover by Walter Carzon and Mike DeCarlo drops Brain — dwarfed under an enormous cowboy hat, chewing a straw, and clutching a tiny pistol — into a dusty frontier street, while an equally costumed Pinky looms behind him delivering the deadpan punchline about exactly how many shots were fired. It's a wonderfully absurd riff on classic Western showdown imagery, and the story inside, "Oil's Well That Ends Well," promises the duo's signature blend of grand schemes and cheerful chaos.
