Pinky and the Brain #4

Pinky and the Brain take a stroll down the Yellow Brick Road in this October 1996 issue, with Pinky dressed as Dorothy — braids, blue dress, basket, and all — while Brain dons a witch's hat, and the Emerald City gleams in the background beneath a cheerful rainbow. The cover's speech bubbles already hint at the duo's delightful dynamic, as Pinky cheekily questions whether Brain really belongs in the scarecrow role, and Brain fires back with characteristic wit. Walter Carzon's pencils and Mike DeCarlo's inks make for a wonderfully playful Wizard of Oz send-up that pairs perfectly with the interior story, "Pink o' the Irish.
