Winter fun takes center stage on this 1980 issue of Pep, with a snowy ice-skating scene where Veronica and Archie watch an older gentleman — apparently Ronnie's dad — gleefully carving figure eights across the rink, arms outstretched in triumph. Betty looks on from the foreground in her colorful winter hat, while the speech bubbles deliver a perfectly timed punchline about Mr. Lodge's unexpected skating prowess. Dan DeCarlo's pencils and Rudy Lapick's inks give the whole scene that warm, lively energy the Archie gang does so well.
