A sunny beach day brings out the whole Riverdale gang in this 1979 installment of Pep. The cover, penciled by Stan Goldberg and inked by Jim DeCarlo, unfolds across two cheerful panels: Veronica lounges in a beach chair while Archie works his most transparent trick — asking the crowd if anyone found the twenty-dollar bill he "dropped" — as Jughead, Betty, and friends look on with varying degrees of amusement. It's the kind of breezy, good-natured humor that made Archie Comics Group a staple of summer reading, all for just forty cents.
