Pat Sullivan's Felix the Cat #104

Jul 1959 · Harvey · 0.10 USD
“(Not so) Merry-Go-Round”

In the whimsical chaos of a 1959 carnival, Felix the Cat finds himself cannon-balled over the fence with just enough cash to get Kitty in—only to land in a series of misadventures that take a surreal turn when a cardboard cutout of himself springs to life and starts chasing her. Written by Otto Messmer and Joe Oriolo, with art by Messmer and inks by Oriolo, this delightfully odd tale from *Pat Sullivan's Felix the Cat* #104 is a rare, playful moment in the classic series. The cover, by Warren Kremer, captures the zany energy of the story in bold, expressive lines.

At a carnival and having only enough money to pay for Kitty's admission, Felix has himself fired from an army cannon over the wall and into the carnival. After a rough landing, Kitty suggests that Felix have a novelty "cardboard silhouette" of himself made at a carnival booth. He does, and the silhouette comes to life - and begins wooing Kitty.
