Paranoid Gardens #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThe second issue of Paranoid Gardens delivers another wonderfully strange tableau, with a staff worker in a lanyard walking through what appears to be the grounds of an eccentric care facility, a golden butterfly resting in her outstretched hand. Surrounding her is a remarkable cast of residents — a green-skinned figure in a wheelchair, a character with a monkey's head in a lab coat, a man in a robe, a woman in a bug-eyed mask, and two armored figures lurking in the upper corners — all rendered in meticulous detail by artist Chris Weston, with Dave Stewart's warm autumnal colors giving the whole scene an oddly cozy unease. Written by Gerard Way and Shaun Simon, this Dark Horse series continues to feel like nothing else on the shelves in 2024.
