One-Star Squadron #2

The second chapter of Mark Russell and Steve Lieber's six-issue limited series keeps the comedy coming in spectacular fashion. Lieber and colorist Dave Stewart's cover says it all: Red Tornado gets blasted skyward out of a giant party cannon — still cradling an unconscious man in his arms — while a crowd of birthday-party guests scatters in wide-eyed panic below. It's a perfect snapshot of a superhero "meet and greet" going thoroughly, gloriously wrong, and it makes One-Star Squadron feel like exactly the kind of DC series you didn't know you needed.
