NYX: No Way Home #4

Alina Urusov's cover for this fourth chapter of Marvel's six-part 2009 series is a hauntingly beautiful piece — a young blonde woman tumbles through a murky, dreamlike void of greens and blacks, arms outstretched as if grasping for something just out of reach. The painterly composition carries a real sense of desperation and vulnerability that perfectly suits this street-level Marvel story. With Marjorie Liu writing and Sara Pichelli among the interior artists, NYX: No Way Home continues to be one of 2009's more quietly compelling limited series.
