The main story, "Nyoka and the White Menace," involves a plot by the Mau Mau terrorists to raid outlying settlements in Africa for profit, which Johnny Advent is commissioned to investigate by locating a missing British sportsman in Victoria, Uganda. Johnny and a city boy named Mike venture into the jungle, where they encounter the Mau Mau and become entangled in their schemes. Nyoka becomes involved when she discovers the conflict and attempts to prevent violence, including trying to mediate between the evil Chief of Bacco and his twin brother Nomo to stop them from fighting, while being pursued by the Mau Mau through the Bacco village.
