Nikolai Dante is arrested for being a thief and a scoundrel. He is offered a job in the Imperial Raven Corps instead of being killed. While investigating a crashed spaceship with Tsarina Jena it is discovered he is part of the Romanov Dynasty when a secret Romanov bio-weapon grafts itself into his body. Aleksandr and Aledsandra Romanov try to kill Nikola and Jena to stop the bio-weapon from falling into the Tsar's hands.
