Prog 1046 of 2000 AD delivers a gleefully unhinged cover image: a wild-eyed, gap-toothed villain known as Major Demento grips an enormous bullet with "DREDD" scrawled across it, his military cap and "Say No to Gun Control" badge making his intentions perfectly clear. The cover copy warns that Judge Dredd is in major trouble in Camp Demento, Part 2, written by John Wagner with art fully rendered by Jason Brashill, whose caricature-style linework gives the antagonist a manic, larger-than-life presence. It's a wonderfully lurid slice of 1997 British comics at their most entertainingly irreverent.
