Nightwing #35

Part of DC's sprawling 1999 "No Man's Land" crossover event, this issue kicks off the "Escape to Blackgate" story arc with a cover that puts Nightwing right in the thick of it — Dick Grayson in his black-and-blue costume fighting his way through a press of wild-eyed, desperate figures beneath a barbed-wire-laced ceiling. Scott McDaniel's pencils and Karl Story's inks give the scene a raw, kinetic energy, with Nightwing's grimly determined expression suggesting he's outnumbered but far from outmatched.
