Nick Fury's Howling Commandos #6

The sixth and final issue of this 2006 Marvel series sends Nick Fury's monster squad out in a blaze of chaotic energy, and the cover by Rafa Garres captures the team in full, ferocious motion. A fierce woman in a brown jacket throws a punch at the center, flanked by a stitched-together green figure carrying a rifle, a massive blue-furred creature looming behind them, a snarling werewolf-like beast below, and a clawed winged figure sweeping in from the right — a genuinely striking assemblage of the supernatural and the dangerous. With Giffen writing and Norton on interior art, this is a satisfying send-off for one of Marvel's more entertainingly bizarre tactical units.
