NewMen #3

Issue three of Image's NewMen arrives in June 1994 with a cover by Jeff Matsuda and Jon Sibal that absolutely fills the frame — a snarling, fang-bared beast dominates the composition while a powerfully built brawler and a compact armored figure are caught in the thick of a chaotic clash, with at least two more characters visible along the edges amid swirling energy. Matsuda's kinetic linework gives every figure a sense of coiled, barely contained force, making the whole image feel like it's about to burst off the newsstand. If you've been following Eric Stephenson and Matsuda's young team, this issue looks like the action is only intensifying.
