Chip Zdarsky and Jacob Phillips's noir crime series reaches its seventh chapter, and the cover says it all: a fist raised defiantly against a gray city skyline, pistol thrust upward in vivid magenta — bold, purposeful, and just a little dangerous. The stark two-tone design, stripping the urban backdrop to monochrome while the weapon and hand pulse with color, gives this Image Comics series a visual confidence that matches its crime-fiction ambitions. If you've been following Newburn, issue seven looks like the tension is very much still climbing.
