New Heroic Comics #84

New Heroic Comics #84 is an anthology of true-life heroic stories. "Brave Soldier" recounts Pvt. Clarence Lester's patrol with the Third Division's 15th Infantry Regiment, during which his unit becomes pinned down by enemy fire; despite being wounded, Lester attempts to break through fortified enemy positions to aid his comrades. Another story features Pfc. Wells B. Wilson, who refuses medical evacuation to care for a wounded assistant and is ultimately awarded the Bronze Star for his courage in defending a besieged outpost. The issue also includes a narrative about a Flying Fortress bomber crew on a bombing run over Germany, where the Navigator is struck by flak and, despite severe jaw injuries and pain, continues to guide the damaged plane back toward England by providing crucial directions to the pilot.
