New Avengers #5 closes out the "Breakout" arc with a cover that puts Wolverine front and center — claws fully extended, mask torn away, charging hard through dense jungle foliage with that unmistakable berserker fury. David Finch's pencils and Danny Miki's inks give the image real kinetic weight, every blade of grass and bared tooth rendered with striking detail. Brian Michael Bendis and the creative team were clearly building something special with this new lineup in 2005, and this cover captures the raw, unrestrained energy driving the whole run.
