Set against a gritty neon-lit Asian cityscape, this second issue of Image's Netherworld puts a hard-edged man in a black jacket front and center, his outstretched hand demanding your attention, while a blood-spattered young woman lingers warily in the background. The contrast between his cool authority and her visible distress sets a tense, noir-soaked tone that feels right at home in the Heroes and Villains Entertainment lineup. With Hill, Levin, Shasteen, and McCaig on the creative team, this 2011 series is clearly staking out its own stylish corner of the Image universe.
