“Double Dealings”

Marvel's self-proclaimed "First and Mightiest Mutant" looks anything but regal on this striking 1992 cover by Jae Lee — a snarling, barely-restrained Namor dominates the foreground, clutching a blonde woman in a green outfit as chaos seems to radiate from every angle. The bold tagline "Out of Control!" sets the tone perfectly for "Double Dealings," the story waiting inside. With John Byrne and Joey Cavalieri on writing duties and Jae Lee's raw, kinetic linework throughout, this is a memorable chapter in the Sub-Mariner's early-'90s run.
