“Purpose!”

In "Purpose!", Namor, believed dead, rises from the depths onto a remote island, his mind unhinged. When the inventor Caleb Alexander and his daughter Carrie arrive in their boat, the Oracle, they use a device of Caleb’s design to restore Namor’s clarity—only for him to reward them with a chest of unimaginable wealth, meant to help heal the planet. Meanwhile, in New York, the ambitious siblings Desmond and Phoebe Marrs plot to seize control of the newly formed Oracle, Inc., a company built by a mysterious father-daughter duo. Written and illustrated by John Byrne, with inks by Bob Wiacek, colors by Glynis Oliver, and letters by Ken Lopez, the cover by Byrne captures the moment of Namor’s return in striking detail.
