“Peril from the Past!”

In "Peril from the Past!", Jerry finds himself in a twist of fate when a staged wedding for a club initiation accidentally becomes real—thanks to an overzealous minister and a stranger named Helen. With their fake marriage now a legal mess and Helen’s job at risk, the pair must untangle the chaos while navigating unexpected emotions. Bob Powell’s expressive art brings the romantic tension to life, with Chris Rule handling both the interior inks and the cover’s dramatic scene.

Jerry asks perfect stranger Helen to undergo a mock wedding to him as part of an initiation to a businessman’s club arranged by Herman, brother of his real fiancee Marsha. However, Herman accidentally hires an actual minister to perform the ceremony and Jerry and Helen are really married. Helen learns she’ll lose her job unless the marriage is annulled. They eventually discover the wedding wasn’t legal after all, but Jerry breaks off his engagement to Marsha because of the way she acted during the events. Eventually, Jerry and Helen get married for real.
