Babs and John are engaged. Dr. Hopkins tells Babs that John could be a great brain surgeon with years of study. Instead, John intends to be a general practitioner and marry Babs. Hopkins says the woman he loved died 35 years before because there was no talented brain surgeon around and Babs would be condemning others to death by marrying John. Babs breaks up with John and studies to be a nurse. She’s injured rescuing children from a hospital fire, and needs a brain operation. John convinces Dr. Hopkins to perform the surgery. Babs will recover and marry John.
