Vernon Albright lets slip to a paint manufacturer that his office was recently redecorated with Drywell Paint—only problem is, the office hasn't been painted in ten years, and the client is flying in the very next morning. Now Margie and her father have one frantic night to transform the shabby office with help from Freddie Wilson and Mrs. Odetts, but chaos and mishaps pile up faster than they can slap on a coat of paint in this hilarious race against the clock.

When Margie drags her reluctant father Vernon to a winter sports carnival to watch her friend Freddie compete, his complaints about the cold weather prove premature—a series of mishaps involving skiing jumps, toboggans, ice skating, and an electric blanket leave him increasingly battered and frozen. As the day spirals from one comedic disaster to the next, Vernon discovers that sometimes a day of winter sports chaos might have an unexpected silver lining.

Freshman Freddy and a campus big shot both think they have a date with Winnie, but she's cleverly pitted them against each other—promising the date to whoever cleans up the rocks in her yard first. When Freddy discovers his rival getting help from a friend, he has to outthink them both to have any shot at winning Winnie's attention.
