The classic comedy duo is at it again in this December 1957 DC offering, with a cover by Sheldon Mayer that drops the boys right into a lion's cage. The tall, mustachioed Jeff struts in a red ringmaster's uniform, clutching a chair and whip while a very unimpressed lion lounges beside him — and little Mutt peeks in from the bars to deflate Jeff's bravado with a perfectly timed punchline about a fifty-man "club." Al Smith's humor writing and art carry the interior gags, promising the same sharp, gentle wit that made this strip a beloved American institution for decades.
