Mutt & Jeff #66
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeBud Fisher's beloved odd-couple duo delivers pure slapstick gold in this October–November 1953 issue, with a cover by Sheldon Mayer that tells the whole joke at a glance: the tall, dapper Mutt sits triumphantly in his rowboat exclaiming he wishes Jeff were here to see his "some bite," while the diminutive, top-hatted Jeff has been yanked clean out of the boat and is skimming across the water on his back — a fish on the line apparently the least of anyone's worries. It's warm, wonderfully absurd humor that captures exactly why this strip charmed readers for decades, and at a dime a copy, issue #66 was an easy laugh well earned.
