Fifty-two big pages of laughs arrive in this August–September 1951 issue of Mutt & Jeff, brought to life on the cover by Sheldon Mayer. The gag is pure slapstick gold: the short, dapper Jeff confidently steers a tiny red car at breakneck speed while the tall, anxious Mutt grabs his hat in terror — Jeff's cheerful advice to "just shut your eyes" doing nothing to calm the situation, as a hapless bystander scrambles out of their path in the background. With Bud Fisher's beloved odd-couple duo in peak comedic form, this is a wonderfully charming slice of early-'50s funny-book humor.
