Bud Fisher's long-running comedy duo is in fine chaotic form on this May 1962 Harvey issue, as the tall, top-hatted Jeff clutches the shorter, orange-striped-trousered Mutt in a wild scramble — all while two very angry bears close in fast from behind. It's a perfectly silly snapshot of the slapstick energy that made these two enduring comic strip favorites, rendered here with Fisher's own pencils and inks. At just 12 cents, this was an easy ticket to a good laugh in 1962.
