As the Brood attack, Carol breaks her link with Cru but finds that her powers are gone as she begins to battle the sleazoids. The Brood take Cru's body but Carol finds that her former foe is still active inside of her head and trying to take control. As Carol fights Cru's influence, she is confronted by different versions of herself from the past. Carol is captured by the Brood and brought before their queen.
