When Red Herring and Flash Smith spot a wanted poster for bank robber and murderer Perley Gates, they figure the safest hiding place in town would be the police station itself—and they're determined to catch him there. But their wild scheme to report the crime takes a chaotic turn when they steal a police motorcycle and barrel straight into the cops' roadblock, landing them in hot water with Officer Murphy and the police chief. As Red and Flash scramble to prove they've found the fugitive, they discover nothing's quite as straightforward as it seemed.
