Moon Knight #9

The Bendis/Maleev run on Moon Knight consistently delivered some of the most atmospheric hero imagery of 2012, and issue #9 is a striking example — Moon Knight is rendered here in cool, painterly blues, his white robes and hood pulled back as he gazes upward with an expression of quiet intensity. Alex Maleev's cover work captures something almost devotional about the character, the loose, luminous brushwork giving him the weight of a figure caught between exhaustion and revelation. It's a genuinely compelling piece of art that makes this issue hard to pass over on the shelf.
