Monte Hale Western #53

Monte Hale pursues the Henshaw gang, who have escaped with stolen goods including a small golden locket belonging to the Dallas Kid's daughter. Following a clue from the locket's picture, Monte heads to the San Pablo Mission, where he believes the girl is hidden. After an exhausting six-day trail ride, Monte catches up with the herd and a lone rider—and discovers the rider is Tex Mabie, a legendary Texas hombre known for his fierce independence. Monte must tackle the giant Tex in a wrestling match to prove his worth and earn passage to complete his search.
