The Blackhawk story opens with the Knights of the Air confronting a dangerous opponent named Spectra and her scheming terrorists in a mountainous stronghold. A second story follows a woman on horseback carrying a banner to an orphans' home, where she attempts a daring rescue involving a horse and a "Dead End" property sign. The issue concludes with a Will Bragg story in which the titular character, an artist, attempts to win an art association's annual contest despite lacking formal training.
Ezra Jones is confident he'll win Luggett's drug store photo contest—so confident he's already picked up a tuxedo on credit, banking on the prize money. When the big day arrives and his entry takes first place, he's thrilled until his girlfriend Myrna discovers the winning photo isn't of her at all, and things spiral from there in this teen humor romp from 1950.
