Miss Fury leaps into action on this Fall 1945 cover, her black cat-suit and flowing hair cutting a striking silhouette as she descends on two armed men scrambling around a red convertible beneath a steel bridge. Alex Schomburg's cover art crackles with kinetic energy — hats flying, guns dropping, thugs reeling — capturing the heroine mid-strike with an athleticism that was genuinely ahead of its time. Tarpé Mills continues her work on the interior, making this one of the rare 1940s comics where a woman both wrote and drew the adventures of a woman hero.
