Dynamite's 2013 relaunch of the golden-age heroine opens with a striking cover by Alex Ross — Miss Fury rendered almost entirely in dramatic grayscale, her black costume and wild hair dissolving into swirling smoke as she arches her head back with fanged intensity, a slash of vivid red at her cape the only burst of color against a stark white background. It's a hauntingly elegant image that immediately signals this series has serious artistic ambitions. Writer Rob Williams and artist Jack Herbert are on board for the interior, promising an intriguing modern take on one of comics' most enduring female adventurers.
