“The Butcher!”

In "The Butcher!", the Blackhawks are drawn into a deadly mission after the Countess Elsia is targeted by Baron von Tepp, a ruthless enemy known as "The Butcher" for his brutal loyalty to the Führer. With the Countess's life in danger and her escape only a narrow one, the team takes it upon themselves to hunt down the man responsible. Written by Bill Woolfolk and illustrated with striking intensity by Reed Crandall—both inks and pencils on the interior and cover—this 1942 issue captures the wartime stakes with grit and urgency.
