The 2026 relaunch was publicly announced at the ComicsPRO annual meeting in Glendale, California, and formally revealed in detail in early 2026, with Boom! Studios positioning it as a full universe refresh following the conclusion of the Power Rangers Prime series. Writer Marguerite Bennett was a deliberate and informed choice: she had previously helmed the 'Beyond the Grid' arc (MMPR #31–39, 2018–2019) — a nine-issue run that spotlighted underutilized Rangers from across the franchise's history — giving her an established familiarity with the wider mythology before returning to anchor the flagship title. Joining her is artist Andrew Lee Griffith, a licensed-comics veteran whose Transformers and G.I. Joe credits gave Boom! Studios confidence in his ability to design updated Ranger suits that feel superheroic while remaining grounded in the original color-coded visual language. The issue's main cover was assigned to superstar artist Jim Cheung, with an extensive roster of variant covers from contributors including Taurin Clarke, Annie Wu, Sweeney Boo, Goñi Montes, and Francesco Tomaselli — a cover program that reflects the scale of the publisher's promotional commitment to the launch.
