Masks #7

Alex Ross's painted cover for Masks #7 delivers a striking tableau: a white-suited, faceless masked figure dominates the foreground, clutching a torn newspaper bearing the words "The Clock," while several masked and costumed heroes lie strewn across the floor around him in a grand, wood-paneled hall. The tension radiating from that single standing figure — composed yet surrounded by fallen allies — makes this one of the series' most arresting images. Written by Chris Roberson with interior art by Dennis Calero, this 2013 Dynamite series continues to make a strong case for pulp-hero team-ups done right.
