The Monster Hunters take center stage in this 1998 installment of Marvel Universe, as the cover — penciled and inked by Mike Manley — throws them headlong into chaos against the towering, rampaging Gorgilla. A fierce woman armed with a crossbow and a blond man leveling a rifle stand their ground while a cloaked figure reacts in alarm, all dwarfed by the massive ape-creature looming over them amid flames and destruction. With Roger Stern writing and Bret Blevins on interior art, "Creature on the Prowl!" looks like a wonderfully pulpy throwback to Marvel's monster-adventure roots.
