“...And Much to Ponder Before Dawn”

An unlikely but compelling partnership takes center stage in this May 1983 issue, as the cover splits dramatically between Spider-Man's enormous close-up mask and the Vision standing in full figure, his yellow cape sweeping wide against a dark background. The bold, graphic composition — penciled by Ed Hannigan and inked by John Byrne — makes terrific use of contrast, pairing Spidey's warm red-and-blue webbing with the Vision's cool crimson face and green-accented synthezoid form. With J. M. DeMatteis writing and Kerry Gammill on interior art, Marvel Team-Up #129 looks like a genuinely intriguing meeting of Marvel's wall-crawler and one of the Avengers' most enigmatic members.
