“Spider-Man!”

In "Spider-Man!", a young hero grapples with a new threat as the government's secret project involving shrinking technology draws the attention of Russian spies. With the help of his brilliant but reclusive colleague Henry Pym and a surprising alliance with a colony of ants, the hero must stop a dangerous theft before it's too late. Written by Stan Lee and Larry Lieber, with dynamic art by Jack Kirby and inks by Dick Ayers, this 1964 annual features a pivotal moment in the Ant-Man's early story—his first act as a masked protector, unseen by the world. The cover, a striking collaboration by Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and Sol Brodsky, captures the moment of stealth and suspense.

Henry Pym, having created the serum to shrink, has become a student of ants. The government hired Henry Pym and his lab to create a gas that serves to immunize people against radiation. The Russians send some spies to seize it, kidnapping the scientists. Henry eludes them by shrinking himself once again. Thanks to the help of the ants, Pym manages to stop the Russian spies and save the scientists. Later he returns to his office to avoid anyone noticing his absence. In this way the Ant-Man acts for the first time as such, without anyone knowing.
