“Torn”

In "Torn," Brian Michael Bendis and Olivier Coipel deliver a haunting, character-driven chapter of the House of M aftermath, where Dr. Strange confronts Wanda Maximoff in the shattered remnants of her reality. As Quicksilver’s role in her descent is revealed and Magneto learns the painful truth, the weight of betrayal and madness pushes Wanda to a devastating decision. The story unfolds with emotional intensity, rendered in bold, dynamic art by Coipel and inks by John Dell, Scott Hanna, and Tim Townsend, with vibrant colors by Frank D'Armata and Paul Mounts. The cover, a striking double portrait by John Cassaday and Michael Ryan, captures the fractured tension at the heart of the moment.

Dr. Strange slips in to confront Wanda who has created the House of M reality. Strange discovers that it was Quicksilver and not Magneto who talked the Scarlet Witch into creating a world where mutants rule. Hawkeye shows up to kill Wanda but she discorporates him. Magneto is mind zapped by Layla Miller and learns the truth. He attacks his son for helping make this new twisted reality but this only succeeds in making the Wanda more scared and confused. Reaching a conclusion based on her mind's faulty logic, she proclaims, "No more mutants," and the world ends in a blinding flash.
