It features the Sorcerer Supreme's adventures as written by Roy Thomas and drawn by artists including Gene Colan and Dan Adkins, showcasing the psychedelic and mystical storytelling of the era.
In "Those Who Would Destroy Me!", Doctor Strange finds himself trapped in a web of deception when Mordo’s absence from his sanctum signals danger. With a hidden bomb detonated mere moments before it could kill him, Strange is captured by Mordo’s minions, stripped of his magic, and left vulnerable—his spirit form adrift as he struggles to reach The Ancient One, while a demon probes his mind.
In "With None Beside Me!", Doctor Strange fights to reclaim his body and mind after being captured and bound by Mordo’s forces, hiding in a rooftop water tank while the demon and his men scour the city. With only his wits and the Cloak of Levitation to aid him, he turns the tide by turning one of Mordo’s men against his master—only to learn his physical form has fallen into the hands of a powerful witch. As the game of deception and magic escalates, Strange must outthink his enemies, regain control of his amulet, and sever the dark magic binding his foes, all while the looming threat of Dormammu and the fate of Clea remain unresolved.
In "Where Man Hath Never Trod!", Doctor Strange is drawn into an alien dimension by Dormammu’s cunning use of Asti, setting the stage for a high-stakes confrontation beyond the bounds of known reality. With the Ancient One’s guidance, Strange faces the ruler of a distant realm, where he must prove his intentions are not conquest—but revelation—when Dormammu manipulates the situation to ensure his downfall. The tension builds as both Strange and Dormammu prepare for a final, fateful clash across the infinite.
In "To Catch a Magician!", Doctor Strange faces off against Mr. Rasputin, a descendant of the infamous mystic with a thirst for global control. When Rasputin’s plot unravels and he flees to Strange’s own sanctum, the Sorcerer Supreme must outwit a deadly assassin sent to finish what the villain couldn’t—before the hospital where Strange lies wounded becomes a battleground.
In "The End --at Last!", Doctor Strange confronts Dormammu in a high-stakes mystical duel across dimensions, only to find himself caught in a far greater cosmic struggle when Eternity awakens. As the fabric of reality trembles, Strange must navigate the aftermath of a battle that reshapes the balance of power—before returning to a world he’s left behind.
When Doctor Strange returns home to Greenwich Village to find his finances in ruins and his house condemned, he’s forced to consider a desperate gig at a nightclub—only to be told magic is out of style. Just as he contemplates his next move, a cryptic message from The Ancient One arrives, warning of a looming threat from beyond known realms: Kaluu.
In "If Kaluu Should Triumph...", the ancient sorcerer Kaluu returns after five centuries of exile in the Nameless Dimension, driven by vengeance against his former friend, the Ancient One. With Strange's sanctum sealed behind an unbreakable barrier and demons summoned from beyond, the two must outwit their foe in a battle where every move is measured in magic and memory.
In "The Conquest of Kaluu!", Doctor Strange and the Ancient One race against time to reclaim the Book of the Vishanti from ancient Babylonia, where Kaluu’s dark ambitions threaten to unravel reality. With the Flames of the Faltine burning ever brighter, Strange must outwit his foe across timelines—only to return with the book and turn Kaluu’s own spell against him. Meanwhile, in the Dark Dimension, Clea faces a new terror as Umar, freed from her prison and wielding the power of the Mindless Ones, declares her reign will eclipse even Dormammu’s.
In "Umar Strikes!", the ancient sorceress Umar, long imprisoned, awakens to learn of her brother Dormammu’s defeat at the hands of Dr. Strange—sparking a vow of vengeance despite their bitter rivalry. With the Lamp of Lucifer revealing the truth, she strikes back by trapping Clea in a dimensionless void, drawing Strange into the same abyss just as he summons wealth to ease Wong’s burdens.
In "Into the Dimension of Death!", Doctor Strange is drawn once more into the perilous Dark Dimension, where he must navigate deadly traps and ancient threats. There, he encounters Umar, who claims to seek redemption for her brother Dormammu’s sins and reveals that Clea has been taken by the Mindless Ones—tasking Strange with her rescue. Though wary of her motives, Strange presses on, knowing Clea’s fate hangs in the balance.
In "Alone, Against the Mindless Ones!", Doctor Strange fights desperately to break through a web of illusions spun by Umar, racing to reach Clea only to find her freedom a trick. Now drained and cornered, he must face the true horror of the Mindless Ones with nothing but his wits and will.
In "Clea Must Die!", Doctor Strange races against time to thwart Umar’s plan to conquer all dimensions, using the Eye of Agamotto to uncover her schemes. After escaping the Mindless One, he teams up with Veritas, the Embodiment of Truth Incarnate, to break into Umar’s fortress and free her imprisoned victims—only to face a shocking twist when Umar, confronted with her true self, unleashes a deadly spell aimed directly at Clea.
In "The Fearful Finish--!", Doctor Strange and Clea flee across fractured dimensions as a deadly force pursues them, their only hope a desperate call to The Ancient One. When the mentor’s final intervention sends Clea to an unknown sanctuary, Strange is thrust into another realm—just as the ominous truth sinks in: Umar walks the Earth.
In "Umar Walks the Earth!", Doctor Strange is sent to the Amphora to free the imprisoned Zom, a being bound by chains of living bondage. When sorceress Umar arrives on Earth, destroys Strange’s home, and summons the Ancient One, the two must race against time to stop her from claiming power—only for Zom’s vengeance to shift toward Strange and his mentor when Umar escapes to the Dark Dimension.
In "The End of the Ancient One!", Doctor Strange witnesses his mentor, the Ancient One, sacrifice himself to stop the ancient sorcerer Zom, who has been unleashed upon Stonehenge. As the Ancient One is fused with a massive stone, Strange must face Zom alone—only to unleash a surge of dark energy when he severs Zom’s forelock. A thunderous voice from the horizon banishes Zom, but the Living Tribunal arrives to deliver a chilling verdict: Earth must be utterly destroyed.
In "The Sands of Death," Doctor Strange faces an impossible choice when the Living Tribunal orders Earth’s destruction to contain a cosmic threat. With time running out—measured by the mystical Hourglass at Stonehenge—Strange must prove he can stop the menace before the sands run dry. As he sets out to confront the danger, the weight of his past victories and the fate of the world hang in the balance.
In "The Evil That Men Do...", Doctor Strange returns to find his Sanctum vanished, replaced by ruins and a shaken Wong, who barely escaped Umar’s spell of vanishment. With the Crystal of Agamotto, Strange uncovers a hidden network of mystics plotting to free an imprisoned force—only to realize too late that their chosen leader is Baron Mordo, his most bitter foe, now unleashed and unbound.
In "If This Planet You Would Save!", Doctor Strange finds himself besieged by a coven of evil mystics led by Baron Mordo, who refuses to heed reason and orders Strange’s execution. Forced to act, Strange seizes the ring-leader, purging the dark magic, and compels Mordo to witness a vision of Earth’s peril—yet even then, Mordo’s instinct is to flee. With a daring plan, Strange channels the coven’s power through Mordo himself, using him as a vessel to contain the evil, but the surge of power proves overwhelming, leaving Mordo poised to unleash a new era of domination.
In "And a Scourge Shall Come Upon You!", Doctor Strange awakens lost in a distant galaxy, his memories fractured and his mind besieged by a nameless beast within a hollow sphere. On Earth, Victoria Bentley—freed from an ancient evil—finds herself torn across realities, unsure if her torment is Mordo’s hand or something far stranger. When Strange hears a desperate cry, he and Victoria must confront Nebulos, a surreal alien entity whose motives remain as enigmatic as the forces binding them.
In "From the Never-World Comes... Nebulos!", Doctor Strange is thrust into a cosmic struggle when the mysterious Nebulos captures him and forces him to wield the Staff of Polar Power, a weapon that bends reality and turns even his greatest foe, Mordo, into a pawn. Trapped between Earth’s mystic forces and the Planets Perilous, Strange must confront the consequences of his choices as Nebulos reveals a hidden past tied to a woman named Victoria—and the looming presence of The Living Tribunal draws near.
In "Three Faces of Doom!", Doctor Strange finds himself caught between cosmic duty and personal stakes when the Living Tribunal confronts Nebulos over a staff of unknown evil. With Victoria’s fate hanging in the balance and Nebulos’ planet on the brink of destruction, Strange must act swiftly—seizing the staff as chaos unfolds. When the Tribunal rewards his choice by sending him to a perilous realm to rescue Victoria, the true test of his courage begins.
In "Nightmare!", Doctor Strange awakens on a jungle planet teeming with monstrous creatures, drawn by a vision of Victoria Bentley entangled in alien machinery. Inside a hidden cavern, he confronts Yandroth, Scientist Supreme, who claims to have mastered the cosmos' deepest secrets and plans to crown Victoria queen of countless worlds—beginning with Earth. With science and magic poised to clash, Strange must face a challenge that tests the very limits of his power.
In "The Mystic and the Machine!", Doctor Strange confronts the twisted genius Yandroth in a high-stakes battle of magic and machinery, where ancient spells clash with futuristic weapons. As Strange navigates a hidden underground complex, he faces deadly traps and a relentless foe who wields both sorcery and a colossal lightning-powered robot, all while Victoria remains trapped in the shadows.
In "Nothing Can Halt... Voltorg!", Doctor Strange faces off against the lightning-wielding Voltorg in a high-stakes chase that tears through Yandroth’s lab and into the unknown. With Victoria in peril and the teleportation device flinging them across space, Strange follows—only to materialize at Stonehenge, the site of his mentor’s mysterious end. There, a haunting vision of the Ancient One appears, leaving Strange to wonder if it’s a sign of life… or a dangerous illusion.
In "This Dream — This Doom!", Doctor Strange ventures into the Dimension of Dreams to rescue Victoria Bentley, guided by the Ancient One’s wisdom and a mystical gem. As he confronts Yandroth and the surreal dangers of the dream realm—including a towering behemoth and Viking warriors—Strange must stay one step ahead of a deadly threat that looms in the shadows.
In "Exile!", Doctor Strange faces a desperate choice when Yandroth's attack sends him hurtling into the abyss—only to be caught by the Ancient One's Trans-Hypnotic Jewel. With the Cloak of Levitation in hand, Strange must decide between vengeance and mercy as he sees the Viking women about to kill Victoria, forcing him to release Yandroth into the Dimension of Dreams, where he’ll fade into oblivion.
